I was going through my referral list on my Google Analytics account and this showed up as one of the entries: http://www.typophile.com/node/1501.

It sparked some fond memories I have of the event, especially about how motivated I was. I was 23 years old, just graduated from college, working freelance, and a relative "n00b" to the creative industry. I thought what better way to get exposed then to do something like BD4D. I personally didn't have any work worth showing an audience, but if I got a bunch of people together to show their great work, it would make me look just as good! Perhaps I would even find somebody that would be so impressed as to hire me.

I along with Adrien ended up creating a promotional site for the event, which is still up here. It turned out that the site, coupled with word-of-mouth, was really effective in marketing the event, and the auditorium was pretty much full. Plus it didn't hurt that admission was free.

Every now and again people ask when the next event is going to happen, and I always tell them to find me somebody who is local that you would like to see. If you have any thoughts on who you'd like to see should I decide to do another event, maybe not necessarily tied to BD4D, but just for fun, please feel free to post a comment.

I'm really looking forward to this not so much because of the typeface, but the fact that it's the first feature length film on graphic design.

Came across this today:
"HP is committed to being a leader in global citizenship... We embrace our responsibility to society by being an economic, intellectual and social asset to each country and community in which we operate."
What the fuck is this then? Next on the list of selling points, an enlarge chest and crotch feature.

So New York city was great. It rained the first two days we were there, but that didn't stop us from hitting the shops. The rest of the trip the weather was nice, sunny around 80F. Here are a few photos from the trip.

Can't wait till Seattle gets one of these...

No more flashblogdailyvisual thing. I broke down and setup a Blogger account. It'll be easier for me to post entries and photos. Maybe later I'll make a flash Blogger reader or something, but for now, it's back to HTML!
